Together with passionate fellow students and mentors
participants will experience how to turn ideas into reality. On their journey
they will learn from failure, work collaboratively and unleash their
entrepreneurial capacities. Interdisciplinary teams from the fields of
agriculture, natural sciences and business will have the potential to shape
the future and tackle global challenges.
Prerequisites:
Every student studying in Hohenheim can take part. To
facilitate the power of interdisciplinarity, participants from all three
faculties of the University (agriculture, natural and economic science) are
welcome. Participants can either develop their own idea or join a team with
an existing idea. External teams are also allowed if at least one team member
is enrolled in Hohenheim.
Learning Outcomes:
The Hohenheim Startup Garage encourages the development of
an entrepreneurial mindset. Participants are able to identify problems and
develop solutions to these. Therefore, they learn to follow the
entrepreneurial process that helps them to think solution-oriented and
customer-centric. The need to pitch in front of people and defend an
idea/concept strengthen the soft skills of each participant.
Teaching Methodology:
The
Startup Garage is an interactive format. It follows a flipped-classroom
approach with a mixture of theoretical knowledge, workshops, games and
challenges. Students will learn some theory and have to apply it practically
in various different ways.
Companies have been involved in the initiative: Mentors from different fields/companies will speed up participants’
learning.
These entrepreneurs are ready to connect with participants and share their
experiences.
Further, teams are connected with companies if it delivers valuable insights
or partnerships.
