The food & drink industry is the largest manufacturing sector with increasing connections with other economic sectors (e.g. tourism, nanotech, ICT, pharma) thanks to emerging trends in consumption styles, technology advancements, sustainability standards and health concerns. A better coordination among these sectors is necessary to tackle emerging challenges, catch common opportunities in the job market to food studies graduates and lead innovation in the food production chain.
Education is a key element in the new models of innovation as well as the Responsible Research and Innovation framework towards a knowledge-based society. HE needs to implement modern educational methodologies and to set new approaches of permanent and synergic interaction with the job-market and the main stakeholders by developing joint activities, to anticipate future changes in skills demand, set entrepreneurial skills and lead innovation.
The ASKFOOD, Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliance project (Alliance for Skills and Knowledge to Widen Food Sector-related Open Innovation, Optimization and Development, www.askfood.eu) is aimed to network different actors and sectors in order to : (a) design an interactive and dynamic platform for multisector knowledge sharing and co-creation; (b) anticipate trends and emerging skills; (c) unzip innovative training models, by launching disruptive and cross-industry training schemes, in connection with other EU and internationally supported initiatives.
Aim of this webinar is to give an overview of the main goals and activities of the project as well as the main products. During the seminar will be also presented the opportunities of active participation to the project activities.
