On 6 July 2019, the University of Hohenheim will open Germany’s most beautiful university campus to visitors of all ages for the Open Day under the motto “Open to the world, diverse and tolerant”. Prospective students, children and families, garden and culture lovers, gourmets, alumni, neighbors, friends and patrons can visit laboratories, take part in participatory activities, listen to lectures, explore the baroque Palace and the popular gardens on guided tours and enjoy concerts in around 130 program offerings.

This year, Hohenheim’s annual motto can be experienced live during the Open Day: international students offer tasty specialties from their home countries, prospective students can find out about the many practical offers for Bachelor students in the “Humboldt reloaded” project and scientists from the Hans-Ruthenberg Institute provide information about tropical diversity in Hohenheim, sustainable grazing systems in Brazil or the dreams of young people in Africa. The multifaceted research workshop for tomorrow's dairy products can be visited in the Technical Center of the Department of Dairy Science and Dairy Technology. You can also be the first to visit our newly built research greenhouse or pay a visit to the weather station, the Land-Atmosphere Research Observatory or the Apicultural State Institute. Find out about how unequal our society really is, what drinks say about our personality and experience and describe food with all your senses in the Department of Flavor Chemistry. These are only some of the many exciting topics and places awaiting you.
